Mediareach was proud to take part in a Dragons' Den-style showcase at Tech City Stars Reboot Camp, a pre-apprenticeship programme helping young adults break into tech.
Our CEO, Saad Saraf, sat on the Dragon panel alongside Joana Condeco from Brilliant Basics, James Herbertson from London Nest and a representative from Sphonic. The format was simple: young tech talent pitch, Dragons feedback and challenge.
What is Reboot Camp?
Tech City Stars Reboot Camp is designed as a fast-track for 18-25 year olds who want to work in digital. Over several weeks, participants learn:
Mobile App Development — from concept to prototype
Interactive Media & Marketing — how to position and promote products
Pre-Employment Skills — pitching, teamwork and client-ready communication
Dragons' Den
Pitch format to test real business viability
4 Dragons
Including Mediareach, Brilliant Basics, London Nest, Sphonic
Youth First
Focused on young adults entering tech careersContent
The Pitches: Apps That Solve Real Gaps
The apprentices didn't pitch gimmicks. Their app ideas tackled everyday problems they saw around them:
IT Support Made Simple — on-demand computer repair and troubleshooting
Note to Text — converting handwritten teacher notes into editable Word documents
Grassroots Football — helping local players find games and teams
Music & Creativity — tools for composing and collaborating
Task Management — smarter assignment tracking for students and teams
Key Takeaway
The best youth ideas aren't about tech for tech's sake. They start with a real frustration — illegible notes, no football pitch, a broken laptop — and build an app around it.
Short event, big impact, exactly the kind of community work that fuels London's tech ecosystem.
Why Mediareach Said Yes
We have always believed in opening doors for diverse talent. Reboot Camp aligns with how we work: practical skills, real briefs, and honest feedback from people who actually buy and build campaigns. Saad's role was not to be a TV Dragon, but to give actionable advice on product-market fit, audience and monetisation.
